New WCAG Course Launches, Provides Training on Web Accessibility Standards

Website owners in need of web accessibility training can now access on demand videos for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at WCAGCourse.com.

Kris Rivenburgh, an attorney and the author of The ADA Book, created the course as an educational resource to help business owners and digital providers learn accessibility.

“WCAG is essential knowledge and the people who learn and implement it first are going to make their digital assets accessible and have a huge advantage in the marketplace,” Rivenburgh said.

The WCAG Course includes several helpful features:

  • Focused Lessons: Detailed explanations for every success criterion under WCAG 2.1 and the newly updated 2.2 AA guidelines are inside the course.
  • Video Explanations: Each lesson includes a video explanation by Kris.
  • Text Explanations: Accompanying each video is also a practical text explanation, providing an alternative way of learning and helping students better absorb the material.
  • Code Examples: The course also provides model code to help with the application of WCAG.
  • Downloadable WCAG 2.1 AA Checklist: A downloadable checklist in Excel spreadsheet format is included with tabs sorted by WCAG 2.0 AA, 2.1 AA, and 2.2 AA.

“Digital accessibility has always been essential, but now we’re starting to finally see it be realized on a broad scale. Of course, the push is always there to make accessibility universal and I think the WCAG Course will help advance that goal,” Rivenburgh added.

The WCAG Course is designed for a wide range of professionals, including web developers, content creators, and digital marketers, who play a crucial role in ensuring that web content is accessible to people with disabilities. By understanding and applying the WCAG standards, businesses can not only adhere to legal requirements but also tap into a broader audience, enhancing user experience and inclusivity.

Enrollment for the WCAG Course is now open. To sign up or learn more about the course, visit WCAGCourse.com.

The WCAG Course is hosted on the ADACompliance.net platform. ADACompliance.net offers digital accessibility training programs to help entities of all sizes with ADA compliance and accessibility.
