Great marketing requires a fresh pair of eyes to stay great. That’s just one reason why Ayokay started its scholarship program, aimed at future marketing gurus, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders. The program awards $1000 to a student who has demonstrated an aptitude for digital marketing and creative promotions. Submissions are open now until August 1, 2024.
“Giving back is really important to me and to Ayokay,” says Jack Shepler, Ayokay’s Founder and CEO. “We love offering a scholarship to future marketers who understand how to use their skills to make an impact.”
The Ayokay scholarship has already been used to help support college students finance their education.
“Every bit counts,” says Telia Boice, Ayokay’s last scholarship recipient. “I’m currently in my fourth year. I changed my major pretty late, so I added a year. The Ayokay scholarship award really helps.”
Ayokay chose Boice’s essay because she chose to use relevant, modern examples that focused on positive marketing tactics. Her tone was conversational as though she were talking to a friend.
“So many college students feel they need to write in a formal tone,” says Autumn Laws, Ayokay’s Marketing Operations Manager. “That’s how you get marketing copy that feels hollow. We want to give this award to a student who knows how to get their point across in a way that feels authentic.”
Shepler adds: “And that’s something that we look for during the selection process–how does the writing come across? Yes, we expect the essays to have a persuasive focus, but it can still tell a good story.”

Penchant for creative problem solving
Dedication to data
Aptitude for storytelling
