The recently updated program is designed to incorporate practical outdoor survival skills into theoretical nature studies, culminating in a comprehensive homeschool curriculum that will be useful to children in the long run.

According to the Outdoor Classroom Day movement, 88% of teachers say that children are more engaged in learning when taking lessons outdoors. Not only do children connect more with the environment around them, they receive a boost in their mental health and learning capabilities.

Running Wild Explorers is a 2-year program that teaches children one nature subject and one survival skill each month. Each subject is chosen according to the current season, and can be revisited as often as necessary.

Each RWE lesson provides interesting facts, nature-based jokes, hands-on experiments that children can tackle using common household items, handcrafts, and access to videos and websites specific to the lesson.

The program awards children a button for each survival skill they learn. This allows them to stay engaged with each progressive study and discovery. With every study session and hands-on activity, children are given the tools to understand the world around them, letting them develop their confidence and practice self-reliance.

The program also offers a complimentary full lesson that homeschool teachers can review for quality. This free RWE lesson can be found at https://runningwildexplorers.com/complimentary-lesson

For the upcoming winter semester, Running Wild Explorers continues to help homeschooled kids with their education, offering unique but practical skills that will last a lifetime.

A satisfied homeschool teacher said, “Running Wild Explorers has been an amazing investment of time for my family. The organized schedules keep us right on track, and make the outside activities intentional and meaningful. Honestly, the extra facts and jokes sprinkled in are my kids’ favorites.”
