Alvo Minerals updates progress at Bluebush ionic adsorption clay rare earth project

–News Direct–

Alvo Minerals managing director Rob Smakman joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide updates on the ongoing drilling program at the Bluebush ionic (adsorption) clay rare earth elements (REE) project in Central Brazil.

Bluebush is strategically situated on the northern half of the Serra Dourada granite, which is also the host rock for the Serra Verde ionic clay REE deposit. Notably, Serra Verde is currently the only ionic clay project outside of China that is in the commissioning phase.

Smakman informed Proactive about significant drilling results, highlighting diamond drill hole BLD004 which encountered a 28-meter section of heavily weathered saprolite clay. This hole was located just 4 meters east of auger drill hole BRL008, which yielded high MREO values, including a 6-meter interval averaging 2,537ppm TREO and a subset of 3 meters at 3,415ppm TREO, with a notable 24% MREO.

Intriguingly, the grade at hole BLG008 was observed from the surface and seemed to increase with depth, culminating in 3,779ppm TREO.

Up to this point, the drilling efforts at Bluebush have seen the completion of 217 auger holes and six diamond holes, with assay results pending for 130 auger holes and all six diamond holes.

Additionally, Smakman mentioned that a soil sampling and mapping program is being executed, targeting the more central areas of the Serra Dourada granite. These regions are less accessible, necessitating that they be approached on foot. This part of the program is designed to complement the drilling campaign and provide a comprehensive understanding of the mineral potential of the Bluebush project.
